Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Teachors platform. Please read them carefully before using our services. By creating an account or using Teachors, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
01 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Teachors platform, website, or any related services (collectively, the "Platform"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and that the organization agrees to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform following any update to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Age requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform as a student (with parental consent if under 18). You must be at least 18 years old to register as a tutor.
02 The Platform
Teachors operates an online marketplace that connects students seeking to learn technology-related subjects with independent tutors who offer their teaching services. Teachors provides the technology infrastructure, payment processing, verification services, and trust-and-safety systems that enable these connections.
Important — Marketplace Model: Teachors is a marketplace platform, not an employer of tutors. Tutors on Teachors are independent service providers. The tutoring contract is between the student and the tutor. Teachors is not a party to that contract and is not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of any tutoring service provided, except as expressly stated in these Terms.
Teachors reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Platform or any feature at any time with reasonable notice. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes that affect their use of the Platform.
03 User Accounts
Registration Requirements
- You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when creating your account.
- You may only create one account per person. Duplicate accounts will be merged or removed.
- You must use your real identity. Pseudonymous accounts are not permitted for tutors; students may use a display name.
- Students must be 13 or older; tutors must be 18 or older.
Account Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at legal@teachors.com if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.
- We recommend enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) for your account.
Account Accuracy
You agree to keep your account information current. Providing false information — particularly regarding qualifications, identity, or age — is grounds for immediate account termination and may result in legal action.
04 Tutor Terms
In addition to the general Terms that apply to all users, the following terms apply specifically to tutors registered on Teachors.
Verification Requirement
All tutors must complete Teachors's verification process before their profile becomes publicly visible or bookable. Verification includes submission of a government-issued ID and relevant qualifications. Your profile will remain in "pending" status until verification is approved by our team, typically within 2–5 business days.
Fraud Warning: All documents and qualifications submitted during verification must be genuine. Submission of falsified, forged, or misrepresented documents constitutes fraud. Consequences include permanent platform ban and may result in criminal referral to relevant Thai or international authorities.
Commission
Teachors charges a 10% platform commission on all completed sessions. This commission is automatically deducted from the session fee before payouts are processed. The commission covers platform infrastructure, payment processing, safety features, and customer support.
Payouts
- Payouts are processed on your chosen schedule: weekly (every Monday) or monthly (first business day of the month).
- A minimum payout threshold of 500 THB applies for weekly payouts.
- Payouts are subject to a 48-hour clearing period after session completion to allow for dispute resolution.
- Teachors reserves the right to withhold payouts pending resolution of an active dispute.
Off-Platform Solicitation
Tutors must not solicit students to move sessions, payments, or communication outside the Teachors platform. This protects both parties from fraud, tax non-compliance, and loss of dispute resolution rights.
| Offense | Consequence |
|---|---|
| First instance of off-platform solicitation | 7-day suspension + formal warning |
| Second instance of off-platform solicitation | Permanent ban |
| Sharing contact info via chat (phone, email, social) | Message flagged; reviewed per above schedule |
Session Commitments
- You must honor all confirmed bookings. Cancelling a confirmed booking without 24 hours' notice is considered a no-show.
- Three no-shows within any 90-day period will trigger an account review, which may result in suspension or removal from the Platform.
- Chronic cancellations or habitually late starts may result in negative flags on your tutor profile.
Conduct in Sessions
- Sessions must be conducted professionally and in the subject matter stated in the booking.
- You must not engage in any conduct in sessions that would violate our Prohibited Conduct policy (Section 6).
- You must not record sessions without the student's explicit consent.
05 Student Terms
In addition to the general Terms, the following apply specifically to students using Teachors.
Conduct in Sessions and Messages
- You must treat tutors with respect at all times. Harassment, discrimination, or abusive language directed at tutors will result in account suspension.
- You must not solicit tutors to move sessions or payment off-platform.
- You must not attempt to contact tutors outside the Platform using information shared on their profiles.
Payments and Chargebacks
- All payments for sessions are made via the Teachors Wallet system.
- Before initiating a chargeback with your bank or payment provider, you must first contact Teachors Support and allow up to 5 business days for resolution. Unauthorized chargebacks may result in account suspension and recovery action.
Session Recording
You must not record, screenshot, or otherwise capture a tutoring session (audio, video, or screen) without the explicit prior consent of the tutor. Unauthorized recording is a violation of Thai and international privacy laws and will result in immediate account termination.
Wallet Credits
Wallet credits added to your Teachors Wallet are non-refundable once applied, except where required by applicable law. Unused wallet credits may be refunded to your original payment method upon written request to legal@teachors.com, subject to a 90-day validity window from the date of top-up.
06 Prohibited Conduct
The following conduct is strictly prohibited for all users (students and tutors) and may result in immediate account termination and legal action:
Off-Platform Activity
- Sharing personal contact information (phone numbers, personal email addresses, social media handles, messaging app IDs) via the in-platform chat
- Arranging or accepting payments for Teachors-connected sessions outside the Platform
- Encouraging other users to bypass the Platform for any transactions
Harmful or Illegal Conduct
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation of any user
- Discrimination based on race, nationality, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any protected characteristic
- Sharing inappropriate, sexually explicit, or illegal content
- Using the Platform for any unlawful purpose
- Facilitating or engaging in academic dishonesty (e.g., doing another person's coursework or exam)
Platform Integrity
- Attempting to hack, exploit, reverse-engineer, or otherwise compromise the Platform's security
- Scraping, crawling, or systematically downloading tutor profiles, content, or user data
- Submitting false or misleading reviews, or incentivizing others to do so
- Creating fake accounts or impersonating another person or entity
- Using the Platform to distribute malware or spam
- Circumventing any access controls, rate limits, or geographic restrictions
Zero Tolerance: Violations involving illegal activity, fraud, sexual misconduct, or targeted harassment will result in immediate permanent bans and may be referred to law enforcement without prior notice.
07 Payments & Refunds
Payment System
All transactions on Teachors are processed through the Teachors Wallet. Students must load their wallet before booking sessions. Payments are held by Teachors and released to tutors following session completion and any applicable dispute window.

Dispute Resolution
Either party may raise a dispute within 24 hours of a session ending by contacting Teachors Support. Our team will investigate and aim to resolve disputes within 48 hours. Both parties will have an opportunity to submit evidence (chat logs, session completion records, uploaded materials).
Final Decision: Teachors's determination on disputes is final and binding, subject to your statutory rights under applicable law. We act as a neutral arbitrator and have full discretion over dispute outcomes, including partial refunds.
Taxes
Tutors are responsible for declaring and paying any applicable taxes on their earnings from Teachors in their jurisdiction. Teachors may be required to collect and remit certain taxes and will provide payout documentation to support tax filings. Students are responsible for any applicable taxes on educational services in their jurisdiction.
08 Intellectual Property
Tutor Content
Materials uploaded by tutors to the Platform (lesson notes, slides, worksheets, code samples, etc.) remain the intellectual property of the tutor. By uploading materials, you grant Teachors a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and transmit those materials to the student(s) booked in the relevant session. This license does not permit Teachors to resell, sublicense, or publicly distribute your materials without your explicit written consent.
Teachors's IP
All content, trademarks, logos, designs, and technology comprising the Teachors Platform are owned by Teachors Co., Ltd. or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or create derivative works of any Teachors content without our express prior written consent.
No Scraping
You may not scrape, systematically download, or otherwise reproduce tutor profiles, pricing, availability data, or any other content from the Platform for commercial or competitive purposes.
Anonymized Data
Teachors may use aggregated, anonymized, non-personally-identifiable data derived from Platform usage (e.g., popular subjects, average session lengths, geographic trends) to improve the Platform, conduct research, or publish industry reports. This anonymized data cannot be used to identify any individual.
09 Limitation of Liability
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy of tutor profiles, qualifications, or reviews, although we take reasonable steps to verify tutors.
Tutoring Quality
Teachors facilitates connections between students and independent tutors. We are not responsible for the quality, accuracy, safety, or educational value of any tutoring session, except to the extent that a tutor has been found to have violated our Terms. We encourage students to use our review system and report concerns to our support team.
Cap on Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Teachors's total liability to you for any claims arising under or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the total amount you paid to Teachors in the 30 days immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Excluded Losses
Teachors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to: loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, service interruptions, or the cost of substitute services, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform.
Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
10 Termination
Termination by You
You may close your Teachors account at any time by navigating to Account Settings > Close Account, or by emailing legal@teachors.com. Account closure will take effect within 5 business days. Upon closure:
- Any unused wallet credits will be refunded to your original payment method within 14 business days (subject to our wallet credit terms).
- Confirmed upcoming bookings will be cancelled and refunded per our refund policy.
- Pending tutor payouts for completed sessions will be processed on the next regular payout date.
Termination by Teachors
Teachors may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if:
- You violate any provision of these Terms
- You engage in prohibited conduct (Section 6)
- We detect fraud, abuse, or suspicious activity on your account
- We are legally required to do so
- Your account has been inactive for 24 consecutive months
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 8, 9, and 11) shall survive.
Appeals
If you believe your account was terminated in error, you may appeal within 30 days of termination by emailing legal@teachors.com with the subject "Account Termination Appeal." Teachors will review appeals within 10 business days.
11 Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms, or the breach, termination, or invalidity thereof, shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangkok, Thailand.
EU/EEA Users: Nothing in this governing law clause prevents you from invoking mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence that cannot be waived by contract. EU users retain the right to bring disputes before the courts of their member state of residence for consumer matters.
Before initiating formal legal proceedings, we encourage users to contact us at legal@teachors.com to seek an informal resolution. We are committed to resolving disputes fairly and promptly.
12 Changes to Terms
Teachors reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will classify changes as either:
- Material changes — changes that significantly affect your rights or obligations. We will provide at least 30 days' notice via email and a prominent Platform notice before material changes take effect.
- Non-material changes — minor clarifications, corrections, or improvements that do not affect your rights. These may take effect immediately with a "Last updated" date change.
Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must close your account before the effective date.
The current version of the Terms is always available at teachors.com/terms. We recommend bookmarking this page or reviewing it periodically.
